Summer 2023
Occupational Therapy Workshops
Unfortunately Shannon’s books are full for 1:1 clients for 2023 so we have hatched a plan to do the same programs in a 1 day group workshop format
While this is a different experience we are still able to cover each weeks concepts inside a single day. You will have access to the program forever and you will be able to start using the practical application of these concepts immediately!
These workshops are specifically intended for those currently on a waitlist to work with Shannon
We know you have a lot of questions, let’s get you some answers

Online Curriculum
Workshop participants will get access to the online curriculum a week before the date of the workshop just as 1:1 clients do. The online curriculum is meant to be an additional on demand resource to be used to supplement the live workshop. There are videos, visuals, and integration practice activities meant to help each participant apply concepts to their lives.
Entirely Remote
The workshops will be hosted on Zoom, no traveling required, plus you get to be in your own environment so you can set it up just the way you like it and be regulated and safe while you learning. Participants will get the most out of this experience if they have a laptop or desktop to access the workshop.
Same Inclusions
The workshop is designed to deliver the same program with all of the same inclusions that are outlined in the Program Brochure (click the button to download) For each workshop the learning targets are the same as outlined in the program descriptions. We will condense this learning into 1 day and move through each section, just as we would in person, only we will be doing it with a larger group.
A Different Experience
We understand that many people specifically wanted a 1:1 program and that they may be wary of taking them in a group. Shannon has extensive experience facilitating groups and workshops and works hard to create safety.
Knowing what to expect helps us feel safe.
Norms will be sent ahead of time and every participant will have to agree to them and they will be gone over at the beginning.
You will get a schedule for the day on the online platform so you will know what we are doing exactly including breaks and lunch.
You will get the materials for the workshop a week ahead
Final Report Completed Same Day
As we work through each concept participants will be entering the final outcome online which will auto populate into a visual final report of what was learned and how this applies to their employment goals. OVRS and Participants get copies of this to keep and use. All of this is done through a HIPAA compliant and secure platform.
Your questions, wonderings, & reservations addressed
-
Each workshop will have no more than 12 people.
-
We know it’s a lot in one day, and we have worked hard to help make the workshops accessible to neurodivergent nervous systems. Here are some of the things that we do:
You are not expected to mask or do anything other than be yourself and follow the norms
You can stand, sit, be on camera or not, walk, lay down, whatever your body needs
We give you an agenda ahead of time so you know what to expect
We take a break every 60-75 minutes
We have silent time to work and reflect
-
We know, peopling is hard, and unpredictable, we want to validate that and hold space for that.
Shannon has been facilitating neurodivergent groups for 8 years and works hard to create norms and environments that allow each person to feel safe so they can access the information. The goal of the workshop is not socializing or forming some sort of bond with others (although if that happens that is completely fine), we are just working through the program all at the same time.
Other things we want you to know:
You do not need to be on camera or talk to the whole group.
You can submit your questions direction to Shannon who will address them in the whole group setting (anonymously if requested)
If your nervous system is giving you a hard no please respect that knowing.
If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask.
-
Absolutely. You will spending your day with Shannon and a small group of people. Shannon will make sure everyone understands and has their questions addressed before moving on.
We have multiple ways to ask questions from unmuting yourself and and talking, or privately sending questions to Shannon. You can also send questions in the chat to the whole group and they can brainstorm with you too, if you feel comfortable.
Note: Shannon will not be able to accommodate 1:1 time during this workshop.
-
No. You sure don’t. We understand that you can participate in anyway that feels accessible to you, and do not place judgements on you taking care of your needs. EVER.
-
Absolutely not. You can participate at whatever level feels accessible to you.
-
Unfortunately if the dates and entire time do not work for you, it’s probably not a good fit to take the workshop.
-
Absolutely. We will have 10 minute breaks between concepts and a 30 minute lunch.
-
We will not be recording these workshops to preserve privacy and increase participants feelings of safety.
However, Shannon will have videos of her teaching each concept we are covering in an online platform that you will be able to access 1 week ahead of time - forever. That’s right forever.
-
While you can access the workshop from a phone or tablet - your experience will be better on a computer if you have access to one. Sometimes your VRC can help you with accessing one for these programs.
-
Absolutely not. There are strong norms and rules about no one else recording any portion of it that each participant must sign. This is to ensure privacy and to help everyone be able to feel present.
-
At this time these are the only workshops scheduled.
-
Your VRC will manage your enrollment but you can also reach out with any questions. You can also ask any questions in the meet and greet with Shannon.

The final report for the programs will not be comprehensive as it is for 1:1 clients. The workshops are designed so that each participant will be completing their final report on what they learned and how it applies to them throughout the workshop. They will get a copy of this and so will you. Shannon will add a summary of participation to the service summary to endorse their participation fully.
