The one-of-a-kind Sensory Report supports neurodivergent adults (you! me!) in understanding and stopping sensory overload, meltdowns, and burnout — we use neuroscience to unravel the shame and misunderstandings that surround sensory processing in adults — so you feel emboldened and well-resourced in your daily life.

  • Your Customized Sensory Report will be available immediately after your Survey is complete. It has over 80 pages of custom scores and interpretations based on your answers to the survey

  • Lifetime Access to the Sensory Report Community: A private, off facebook – ad free, community space hosted by Shannon and powered by YOU. This is where The Sensory Report comes alive.

We have been navigating our sensory systems our whole lives

It’s what allows us to perceive, process, and engage with our environments — through our traditional 5 senses as well as our lesser known senses like vestibular processing (how we know about gravity) or proprioception (how we know where we are).

Its role is to smoothly and seamlessly make sense of the world around us so we can make decisions about staying alive. It is so fundamental to our sense of who we are and how we move through our days, it feels as though anything it tells us is the absolute truth.

Society tends to assume our sensory systems all perceive reality the same

They do not

ADHD, Autism, + cPTSD all have sensory processing differences as a feature

This is one of the most invisible features of neurodivergence and is often an underlying source of dysregulation and dis-ease in our daily lives.

Hyper-vigilance, overstimulation, and strong sensory preferences are common experiences that leak our energy, cause overwhelm and shutdown, and drastically reduces how much information we can process and respond to in any given moment.

 Sensry Survey

A fun and easeful sensory survey that gives you your personalized results that reflect your own sensory story in the following sensory systems:

  • Vision

  • Auditory

  • Tactile

  • Vestibular - how you know where you are oriented as it relates to gravity

  • Proprioception - how you know where your body is in space related to other things

  • Taste & Smell

  • Your beautifully designed Sensory Report —created specifically for you — consists of the education about the underlying neuroscience behind each of your senses, your custom results, places to make your unique sensory recipes, and a process for creating scripts for talking to others about your sensory needs. Everything is highly visual and approachable to make it easier to understand your unique and complex sensory needs.

The best most exciting part of this is that you get it RIGHT AWAY!

  • The Sensory Report is designed to help you Identify the key ingredients that regulate or dysregulated each of your sensory systems. Sound simple? It rarely is.

Thanks to our society, we have so many internalized beliefs about how your actual sensory needs are you just being ‘extra’ or ‘too much’. So our first step is to look at each of your sensory systems and identify the key factors that are too much or too little. We call these needs our key ingredients.

  • You can do anything - you just can’t do everything.

Sensory Recipes are where we take what you have learned about your Sensory Systems and put it all together. You have your key ingredients of regulation and dysregulation in your sensory system. Now we take those and we make recipes for all the hard things in your life. Recipes for disaster, for communication, for going to the grocery store, for going out to eat, sensory recipes for attending family events, for work, for trying new things, for relaxing. Everything you want to do but that kicks your butt, we write a Sensory Recipe for.

The best part of this is you do not have to write your sensory recipes alone! We have our community resource for you to come brainstorm, get feedback, and receive real time answers from Shannon and other OT’s about what might be going on in a particularly difficult situation.

  • The Sensory Report guides you through the key components of self-advocacy, including how to write scripts and communicate in ways that allow others to best hear you so you can get your sensory needs met.

You do not have to come up with these scripts alone. You can use the community to brain storm and ask for support where you are getting stuck. Plus you can see what kinds of conversations others are having and it can help spark new ways to approach these often tricky topics.

  • Now you have your report and you’re thinking all about sensory, if you are like me you wish you had other people to talk to about this specific thing that were also as excited about it as you… don’t worry I see you. That’s why we have the community!!! Your place to come hyperfocus on Sensory together.

Throughout the journey you will have the community available to you to see how others are navigating similar sensory processing needs to yours. Here you can access a host of strategies that are working for others like you. Not to mention problem solving, validation, feedback, connection, and a space to remember you are not alone.

Note: You don’t HAVE to access the community, The Sensory Report is a complete resource without the community and is designed for you to be able to do entirely on your own or with your therapist or some other trusted processor.

community is

 core

Your Sensory Report really comes to life when you access the resource hub, and that is by design and built in. There is only so much you can do with paper and PDFs and graphics. I imagine the resource hub as a pop-up book for the report. You think the pages are beautiful, but what if you turned them and they all stood up, showing you dimensions that you just could not see when it was flat? That is what connection and community do for Your Sensory Report.

safe connection is required

We do not change when our shame and guilt is so big we can’t see a way out. We do not change when the echoes of voices telling us out whole lives that our sensory needs are too much echo so loudly we can’t hear what we need anymore.

Understanding what you need and validating those needs is big big work

that’s why we have community

  • Access problem solving and feedback. Sometimes we are too close to a problem or too dysregulated to see straight. This is a safe place where you can come as you are and access kind caring feedback

  • Brainstorm scripts for talking about your sensory systems, see examples of ways of communicating about different types of Sensory needs, or join a live room to practice saying it to safe people!

  • Popup office hours from me and other OT’s to answer any questions you have

  • Dedicated community facilitator and support to make sure you are supported and the community is a supportive space for everyone

  • Get voice memo feedback from Shannon directly! That’s right the platform the community is hosted on allows your to ask questions and get answers in voice memo so you don’t have to type it all out if it feels too hard! This is my favorite way to give quick ideas on the go.

  • Access Shannon’s superpowers of being able to immediately see the underlying sensory and nervous system needs that are stopping you from being able to do what you want to do!

A note from Shannon

I am writing this with butterflies in my tummy and big swells of love coming out of my heart reaching out through the interwebs to you right now.  It means so much to me to have this resource alive in the world.

I am in the trenches with you

I am so exhausted and tired of the lack of professional accessible support for neurodivergent adults, I see it daily. I hear the struggles at work, with family members not understanding, and parenting. I stand up to the gaslighting from medical and mental health professionals on my clients behalf all of the time. I am in those trenches, with people just like you. I am experiencing and validating the way society breaks us with precision.

My work has led me over and over back to the same thing. It’s easier when we connect. It’s profound medicine that makes even the hardest things approachable.

Community  Connection are Essential

That is why I needed to create a community based tool.

The Sensory Report is my way of putting what I do with my clients 1:1 into the world so you can have your very own Sensory OT, but you get something so much better than the report, you get each other. I have watched time and time again the amazing power that comes when you gather with each other.

The ideas, the validation, the direct clear communication, the way you all just naturally show up for each other. It is something to behold and is one of the greatest joys of my career. Which is why the Sensory Report is a Community Based Resource. It comes alive when we connect.

A dream, realized

The Sensory Report is my little light from trenches, shining out to you saying “some of us professionals do see you, we are trying, please don’t give up.”

I imagine we are all lost in the dark, and we have our cell phone lights and some general sense of direction, but it’s pretty hard going and the battery dies really fast. I am imagining that as we come together in community, it will still be dark around us, but we can spread the light when we are together. So the dark isn’t so dark.  With all of our cell phone lights working together it feels almost safe and like a place you can learn about yourself and grow, rather than just trying to stumble around in the dark.

I hope that is how it feels for you.

All my best, Shannon
