Shannon Offers Support During…

Neurodivergent Burnout

Burnout can feel devastating and shut you down completely, but not knowing what is happening is even more isolating and dangerous. Shannon supports you by using a rehabilitation lens to the injury your nervous system has sustained from overuse. This takes the guesswork out of what is happening to you by offering nervous system-informed structures and customized strategies that meet you where you are, and work at the pace your system is able, rather than an external standard.

Life Transitions

From high school to college, to finding and losing work, to living on your own or moving, to starting a relationship or ending one. Life transitions can be overwhelming and challenging to navigate for neurodivergent adults. Shannon offers customized structures, support, and strategies to help you meet your goals without falling into burnout by addressing your needs during transition. While transitions can take any shape and form some specific transitions that Shannon specializes in supporting are:

  • Moving out for the first time

  • Entering College

  • Completing College

  • Starting a job

  • Returning to work after burnout

Recent Diagnosis

A new diagnosis or realization of Autism or ADHD can be both validating and send shockwaves through your nervous system that leave you feeling helpless. OT can help you navigate this new information and integrate it into your daily life in ways that no longer require pushing through in the ways you used to before you realized your neurodivergence.

Note: Shannon does not diagnose Autism or ADHD, nor is a diagnosis required to access her services.

Shannon’s Approach

When you work with Shannon, you can expect safe, collaborative, and professional support rooted in a nervous system lens and neurodivergent-affirming strategies.

The Details

  • 1. Meet & Greet

This is where you’ll meet Shannon and have the opportunity to ask questions to determine if Occupational Therapy is a good fit for you at this time.

    2. Scheduling

Once you have decided to begin OT, the next step is to find a recurring time that works for you as well as Shannon. This can be done via email, or during the meet and greet.

    3. Online Onboarding

Once you are scheduled, you will receive an electronic intake form and the practice policies, which must be completed before your first session. This should take about 30 minutes of your time.

    4. Evaluation & Planning

During your first 2-3 sessions, we will get to know each other better and set your Occupational Therapy goals. Together, you and Shannon will create a unique plan tailored to your needs.

    5. Ongoing Sessions

You will continue with your weekly meeting time, focusing on working towards the goals and plan you and Shannon co-created. Meeting times can be 45, 60, or 75 minutes, depending on your preferences and goals.

    6. Ending OT

OT is not meant to be a long-term service. At some point, you will feel ready to navigate your life without the support. You will feel capable of managing what life brings you that you did not feel capable of managing before.

  • To participate in OT, you will need to be able to meet regularly, either weekly or biweekly at a time that works for both you and Shannon.
